Years later, I learnt about children entering foster care with little more than the clothes they were wearing.

So I began collecting children’s clothing, washing every piece, repairing loose buttons and torn seams, and making small clothing packs around my dining table.

But quietly, I carried another dream too — opening a boutique where women could feel welcome, take their time and find something that made them feel beautiful again.

For years, I wasn’t alone — a small handful of women helped me care for the boutique. Then rent, freight and clothing costs kept climbing. I was left doing what once took a small team, alone.
